Ozone in Mushroom Growing

Mushrooms are highly nutritious and a valuable crop but commercial g

rowing presents many

problems. Usually, the crop is of high density making it susceptible to

the spread of disease. These

diseases by their nature are prolific and difficult to stop without damag

ing the actual crop.

Mushrooms themselves are a fungus and as such are susceptible to treatments designed to


the diseases.

Ozone is recognised as a safe water additive for foodstuffs and can be used safely to c

lean rooms

and to water crops.

Between crop's the growing room can be thoroughly washed down prior to refilli

ng using high level

ozonated water. This disinfection process is extremely effective and can replace th

e use of

dangerous chemicals.

chlorine-based chemicals.
